New custom wet room with Grohe plumbing fixtures, Bain Ultra Air Tub, and tile that was reminiscent of European homes the client had visited. The client likes a European look and feel, but also wanted to honor the home's American farmhouse roots. A heat lamp keeps the shower and tub area warm even during the coldest New England winters. The Bain Ultra Air tub has a digital control pad on the wall, and features multiple spa-like massage options. The glass shower door and window opening help give the wet room a sense of openness and connection to the rest of the bathroom. Muted greens and beiges provide a relaxing, spa-like feel, and accent the antique furniture and custom vanities. The clients each wanted their own space to get ready. I designed custom vanities with a European farmhouse feel. An antique armchair gives the homeowners a place to lounge after stepping out of the shower. A door conceals the toilet area for extra privacy. An antique dresser adds storage while keeping the European farmhouse feel. An antique dresser adds storage while keeping the European farmhouse feel. The new bathroom is spacious and relaxing. An inviting getaway for the hardworking homeowners. The vanities were based off a picture the homeowners liked, and custom designed for the space and their storage needs. The original room was an office that had not been touched since the 1960s. Since there was already another functional office space on the first floor and the original bathroom was a tiny mess of dysfunction, I used the opportunity to take over this space and make it a grand master bath. This change also allowed me to reconfigure the floor plan to create a whole Master Suite, complete with walk-in closet. In order to fit everything the homeowners wanted while still keeping the floor plan open and airy, a design with a wet room became a clear winner.
